Gastritis, panic attacks & other weird symptoms
I have been sick now for almost 7 months. Originally I had no clue what was wrong. A few months ago and few drs.later I found out I had chronic gastritis with h.pylori infection & giardia. The 2 infections are now gone. All symptoms remain the same. I have panic attacks & what constantly feels like the panicky feeling & mydr says its from the gastritis but I cant find anything about that being an issue with gastritis. I get bad attacks where I get severly hot burning up feeling, sweaty&clammy, floaty too high type feeling, dizzy, lightheaded, pressure in my head migraines, headaches, blurred cloudy vision, chills randomly, urges to use restroom. All my dr says are gastritis. I dont understand the relation to any symptom but the pain & nausea. Please help. Panic attacks & panic feeling are unbearable!

H.pylori and panic attack
I know exactly what you're going through. Its been 1 year I'm like that. Gastritis and daily adrenalin rush and panic attack. Its so bad that I cant even work. I passed the blood test and had 3 biopsies in my stomach and intestines for h. pylori. All of them came back negative. 6 months ago I went to see a good doctor who made me pass the stool test with Metametrix lab and it came back positive for H. pylori. What I'm trying to say is H. pylori often cause panic attack, which I'm still trying to understand why, and the blood test is not really reliable to find it. I will recommend you to pass the stool test with Metametrix. Its a really precise test and if you have something they will find it for sure!

Hi Cdkz413,

I tried replying a few minutes ago but I realized that i needed to sign up for the forum so hopefully i am not repeating this post.
Myself, I have had the same symptoms that you are having (for about a month), and i agree with you that the anxiety/panic attacks are unbearable. If you need to talk to someone about it, e-mail me

I had an aunt that went through the same thing and she had some very revealing insight as to what happened and how to deal with it.

Hope to hear from you, and hope you feel better.

EJ

Hi ej, hoping u can help me too with some advice. I have posted below as well. Since gastritis I have been extremely exhausted, fatigue, weightloss, loss of appetite, nausea and recently anxiety and depression. I find I'm crying all the time. Feel really down . Do you think that is normal ...? Before gastritis I was such a happy person and loved life and had so much joy

Hey I've been having these symptoms for a few months now, but lately, maybe last fewweeks or so, iI've been getting terrible gas and burping along with my usual anxietysysymptoms like the chills, sweats, light head dizzy, racy heart and all....but these latest symptoms are making me more worried which as I'm sure you guys understand only makes my anxiety worse lol. As I type right now I'm about 45 minutes into a pretty intense attack, but the gas and nausea has been so much worse. I still have an appetite, I've eaten daily and never actually threw up from it, but the feeling is there most of the day, even when my anxiety is low. Also just a weird note, after I eat, whatever it may be, I burp and it taste like cheerios...weird I know but it only seem to happen after I eat. Even later on if I'm still gassy the burping the "taste" for lack of better term changes, it only has that Cheerios taste after I eat for an hour or two. I havean appt in 5 days for a new therapist to hopefully help me get this anxiety under control but I'm wondering if a doctor visit is in order too? I don't have insurance so justcalling a doc iisn't really an option, I'm pretty much left with walking into ER which I hate to do, but wondering if I should and will they take me seriously once in tell them I get this anxiety. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance guys, it helps hearing from other people who suffer from these things, just knowing others out there are dealing with the name thing.

pdettore79,
you should see a doctor and ask him to pass a stool test with Metametrix or Genova diagnostic lab. They are really good labs and are really good to find parasites and bacterias. What you are describing me seem a lot like parasites and/or bad bacterias symptoms in the gut. The panic attack are probably cause by the toxins they are releasing (their waste which is highly toxic) and the stress they are causing in your body. Don't give up! Keep faith! It will probably go away with the right anti-parasite or antibiotic drug for it.

Nivane thank you I hope so, its weird my gas seems to have subsided but my attacks are no less severe. I have an intake interview today with a new clinic to start trying to get this cleared up. Its comforting knowing their are others out there though, even if it turns out to be something else, the anxiety we suffer is all the same. Again thank you, I hope today I can begin to shed some light on this.

Hi, I hope someone can help me to. I'm January this year I went on a cruise and got sick the last day after a meal. Never vomited. But extreme discomfort and nausea and shakes and chills .. I had endoscopy in feb 13 and diagnosed with hernia small and mild gastritis ... The upset sick feeling really affected my appetite and now that ive been sick for 3 months everyday I have lost alotof weight and also fell into a depression.. PMS which I've never had and just crying a lot and over the last week shaky feelings. Has anyone else experienced the depression. 3 months ago I was the happiest person in the world. Since gastritis I've noticed it's taken away my joy and happiness even with my loved ones and my beautiful husband and son.. Also extreme fatigue ... I hope someone else can offer some guidance

So worried I have Stomach cancer...
In January I started experiencing slight nausea and constipation, also noticed pale colored stools. I had previously just had my wisdom teeth removed on jan 2 and was on pain pills. I had also been on nsaids for 2months due to back pain. By febuary I was full blown sick, nausea, burnin in stomach after eating gnawing feeling. Still pale stool and constipation, lack of appetite which has gotten worse. I am down 10 pds now, I am really scared, I go tomorrow for a scope tomorrow after waiting for a month for it. All my blood work is normal except Vitamin D was low. I am getting more and more tired but can't sleep...I started noticing the last few weeks this adrenaline like jerk as I'm falling asleep, wake up nauseas, Its getting worse...friday and today I was in the ER...because of nausea and panic attack. The stomach gnawing is relentless and I feel so weak. No appetite and I keep having these awful feelings that I am dieing that I have stomach cancer...Though no endoscopy has been done yet...all the doctors I have seen say gastritis and ulcer with esophagitis. I don't know anyone that has went thru this....4 months ago i was working out everyday and energetic...well except for my daily winter nap.

Hi guys, wow I'm not alone ... Since my last post above I have to say that my tummy is getting better on its own without any acid blockers... However new symptoms have cropped up such as more extreme fatigue, leg muscle weakness, tired but wired but can't sleep, heart palpitations, hand tremor and depression with emotional mood swings, racing thoughts, weightloss ( I think gastritis related ) like a constant internal anxiety feeling and no energy to enjoy my life as I knew it .. Jan Chris , I miss my husband and son even though they are with me I feel so flat and anxious even with them and it breaks my heart ... I think that is the worst because I was so on top of the world. I Have 2 theories at the moment. Apparently Seratonin is made in the gut apparently and when you get gastritis or tummy issues it can affect the Seratonin levels in the gut and brain causing depression and anxiety and fear etc or it could be related to another condition such as thyroid disorder .. I am a believer that sometimes it doesn't show up on blood tests until its severe maybe. Look up symptoms and I can say my above symptoms seem to match up. Even the anxiety attacks and panic attacks which only happened since January . I didn't even know what a panic attack or anxiety was .... I hope I haven't confused you. All I can say is it is physical based and God willing we get better. I was taking slippery elm for my tummy and I think it helped . I can even drink coffee again . I'm here if you need to talk as I know what it's like to be scared and cry all the time because I want to be happy again . I'm just trying to work it out. Yesterday I cried due to the overwhelming fatigue and emotional side and my tummy was off yesterday I must say too .

I think it will be a long time before i try coffee! I was also told to stay on the antacids for at least 3 months after symptoms subside. Aloe vera juice is supposed to be helpful to the digestive track too. I have heard of slippery elm and mastic gum, and l glutamine...I did buy some l glutamine but have not used it yet...waiting for my scope to confirm gastritis.

gastritis; dont be scared! same symptoms!
Had all of your same symptoms. I thought I was alone and crazy! had endoscopy w biopsy and endoscopy. have gastritis. no ulcers or hernia. everything else was fine. stopped the zantac. i belch, pain under left ribcage, depending on what i eat i have reflux, dizziness, palpitations (which is from the gas btw) the gastritis has caused malabsorbtion of nutrients in you bc of bacteria imbalance. hence why you feel weird, panicky, spaced out...etc. trust me i go to cognitive behavioral therapy bc i thought i was going crazy (regardless, its helping a lot to learn to deal with the anxiety from the gastritis, each sensation had me thinking i was dying and the docs were missing it somehow). some gastritis goes away on its own, some needs antibiotics and probiotics. my doc has me on 10 strain probiotics and also did a bunch of allergy testing on me and i found out im allergic to mustard, onion, rice, garlic, strawberries, chocolate, vanilla, black pepper, and tree nuts. i had no idea about any of them. i suggest you all get that done as well. otherwise, you're not dying. your gut is directly linked to your mind. thats why we all have the same symptom of anxiety. it will get better. eat bland! fish, chicken, potatoes, apples, oatmeal, bread. nothing cruciferous which are gas causing veggies. nothing deep fried. nothing acidic! my BIGGEST trigger is orange juice and tomato sauce and my worst attack hurt to even take a deep breath in and had to go to emergency room, they thought i had a blood clot in my lung....just had me endoscopy and colonoscopy last thursday...everything is fine just gastritis which causes all of these symptoms. you're all ok, deep breath. i realize all these processed foods we all eat are toxic. no more fast food! Wink
