We burp, belch and fart an average of 12 times a day. But why do we have gas? And what is intestinal gas?...the basics here....
Intestinal gas forms from two main sources - swallowed air and bacteria in the intestine. Plus, learn which factors to avoid to decrease the likelihood of gas....
How much gas is normal? Usually symptoms of gas and flatulence are more bothersome than serious. But learn when you should seek help for excessive gas here....

I was a bartender for awhile and was taking aspirin with alcohol regularly for hangovers and ended up having black stool so i went to the hospital and they said i had lost blood and got an endoscopy, they saw where i was bleeding and kept me there for a few days then let me go and said to take it easy. Thing is, i cant quit drinking and just today i drank beer and i have bad abdominal pain and i feel slightly feverish, i looked it up online and a website said if you have abdominal pain and a fever seek medical care immediately, but i didnt have any of the other symptoms. i also dont have black tarry stool. should i goto the hospital? someone help

You can't quit drinking or is it that you don't want to?

If you have bleeding due to drinking and also taking aspirin ... one or both can cause bleeding and if you want it to stop...you really need to decide if you want pain / bleeding (which would /could land you in the hospital once more and really take a toll on your overall health or worse, death)...

And if you destroy your stomach to the point in which your stomach does not absorb nutrients (like B12)...you don't want to go there...as once the damage is done, for the most part it can not be reversed...alcohol aspirin is like acid to your stomach.

Make an appt with a GI doctor (specializes in the digestive tract)....to get his/her professional opinion and a game plan to get back on tract.

Best wishes,

No, I want to quit. I have stopped now for 3 days and feel a little better, but how do I know when my stomach cannot absorb B vitamins, is it possible I am there already or would I know? I'm trying to keep my diet simple and away from acids and I'm not drinking...
