You didn’t tell me why you had a gastric
bypass procedure! Gastric bypass procedure
is used for treating excessive obesity
(BMI over 40 or over 35 but accompanied by
co-morbid conditions) that cannot be
treated in other ways. Your BMI is near
40.
Certain complications from gastric bypass
surgery can happen. Certain complications
are typical for all abdominal operations
(infections, hemorrhage, hernia, bowel
obstruction and venous thromboembolism)
and certain complications are typical only
for this type of operation (anastomotic
leakage, anastomotic stricture,
Dumping-syndrome and nutritional
deficiencies).
Thrush is a fungal infection inside the
mouth or vagina. It is usually due to
decreased local immunity. A cough can be
due to upper or lower respiratory
infection. You should consult your GP to
confirm if you really have a fungal
infection in the mouth and also about the
possible respiratory infection. Infections
are mentioned as possible complications
from surgery but coincidence is also
possible.
