Stopped birth control about 2 1/2 months ago and had 2 normal, 28 days apart periods. I am now 4 days late. Took hpt 3 days ago and was negative. I am very bloated, gassy and having headaches, should I retest?

Am I Pregnant Answer A33799
Hello

Welcome to ehealthforum and thanks for writing

After coming off any birth control method it can take time few months to a year for the cycles to be regularised and start the normal ovulation process. If regular ovulation starts some woman can conceive in 3 to 4 months time and it varies in every individual.

If you have been having regular intercourse then possibility of pregnancy can be suspected. But it would be too early to comment regarding this.Wait for few days and then get a Blood hcg test done for pregnancy determination as it gives accurate results after a week of missed period.Urine test can take sometimes 10 to 12 days after a missed period to give accurate results.

If the test is positive consider visiting a Gynaecologist for evaluation.

Take care!
