Anyone else have a lot of pain with the Gardasil vaccine? I found it to be a lot more painful than many shots i've had and i have NO problem with needles at all. It's been a week today and my deltoid is still very stiff and sore and has a deacreased range of motion. Is this normal? It's really getting in the way of my job now arrgh. Can't believe i need to get 2 more of these things.

I had that problem but not to that extent. My arm was pretty sore for a few days and I ended up getting a large lump all 3 times.

It's day 15 an counting for me now...
I have no lump or redness. You can barely see where the needle went in. I'm actually having a bit worse pain today, maybe from overuse. It's abit numb and heavy feeling, still decreased range of motion, cant put my arm over my head.
The doctor told me to come in afew days ago. I had a blood test done to check for any muscle damage. She said the next time we could put it in my butt..yeah right lady!

This is really getting ridiculous.

K so its day 24 and still no improvement whatsoever.
No results on my blood test so i'm guessing there was no muscle damage. I also scanned my arm over the injection site and nothing showed.
I tried looking on the internet and and thinking that perhaps i had some nerve damage from the shot? There are a few articles about axillary nerve damage from intramuscular deltoid injections. How likely could this be? I figured it if were anything but nerve damage my arm would feel atleast a little bit better..

Wow that is puzzling, I'd like to know the outcome when you do find out. And I wish you luck in resolving this. Makes me glad that I am done with all 3 of my injections. Are you thinking against getting the series?

i remember they were pretty painful but I didn't have any problems afterwards...no soreness or anything...another girl at my work had one done though and she said her arm was really sore...i dunno, i guess it depends on the person...have you spoken with the doctor? maybe you shouldn't get the others if this problem hasn't gone away

Still no relief...
Hopefully i'll see the doctor again this week and can ask if they think it's nerve damage. My dad said it could probably happen to anyone..sometimes they just get it in a bad spot (he's no expert or anything though lol). I just hope that if it is nerve damage that it will eventually go away. Apparently there is nothing you can do to make it heal faster, and nerves heal at a VERY slow rate if at all..i think.
I'm not sure whether i will go through with the next two shots. If i do, it definately won't be in the same arm, OR in my right arm because i need that for work. I may try it in my bum if anywhere, and i definately won't get it by the nurses at the injection clinic (no offense to any nurses out there) but considering the problems this injection has caused, i want the least chance that it will happen again.

I honestly cannot believe you are still having problems. I am so sorry! You're right definately don't go back to where you got the first injection. Maybe see your regular health practitioner if you have one. And like you said maybe you can get it elsewhere like in the bum. But what if you have the same reaction there....it would really stink to have a sore arse for so long.

I was pretty sore after all of my Gardasil shots (more so than with other vaccinations) and I found the soreness to fully go away after about 5 days. good luck!

Just an update
I didn't end up getting any more shots.
I went to the doctor and he said it was likely just muscle irritation and gave me a requisition for physio and ultrasound therapy. He said to go for it in a month if it doesn't improve. The pain was just about completely gone by the beginning of November and was gone for a little while.

Well the pain is back now, months later. I haven't had any injuries or muscle pulls, but i do use my arm a lot at work. It's been painful for 2 weeks again. Think i will end up going for physio...

What a waste all this has been

Please don't get the other shots!!!
Please do your research on this shot. There are girls reporting that the pain at the injection site has actually led to paralysis. There is so much out ther on this shot. Don't do it, read the blogs of the moms trying to help their severly ill children recover from this shot. You did the right thing. Please look at Lets Talk About Gardasil on Yahoo groups, to see how this affected different women/girls, there have been deaths reported. Read the websites, read the VAERS website, not their summaries but the testimonies of all of the side effects. This shot is bad news. My daughter has been ill for a year. We are desperate for her, if you experience abdominal pain, fainting, fevers, don't dismiss it, it could be due to this shot, it is all related.

I am on shot 2 of the series and after a day or so of my 2nd shot my arm started becoming sore. No redness or swelling, bruising, nothing. After about 2 weeks..my arm was still sore but my doctor said it was normal and to call back if it got worse. Well..it is now week 4 and my arm has gotten worse! It really hurts to move and lift things. I am going to my doctor tomorrow to see what this is all about. It's comforting to know I am not the only one out there who has had such trouble with this shot.
