Q: Gardasil side effects ?

Hello all. I have read all the millions upon millions of reports about the negative side effects of Gardasil. The endless seizures, deaths, miscarriages, spontaneous abortions, nausea, hair loss, vomiting, dizziness, Guillian-Barre syndrome....the list goes on and on. I had all three of my shots. The first one I had almost a year ago, and the third I had almost five months ago. I have had no side effects at all. (knock on wood)
I would just like to hear your personal experiences with the vaccine. I would like to hear some opinions from real people. I know there is a huge hype (since the vaccine is so controversial), and of course not everything reported on the VAERS is true, or related to the actual shot, but I do want to know what people think. What side effects have you guys had, if any? Thanks!

Gardasil is designed to prevent infection with HPV. I'm too old to take the vaccine and I already have HPV...but I know that Dr. Drew is an advocate for the vaccine. I would DEFINITELY take a vaccine if I had the chance, because now I'm at risk for cervical cancer.

? Connection To Hodgkins
My 16y/o daughter rcvd the injections and was dx'd with Hodgkins Lymphoma 8 months later...in addition I've met 8 other mothers whos daughters are in the same situation following the vaccine. The vaccine contains HSV6 and EPV both having a connection to Hodgkins. I'd caution anyone thinking about getting the vaccine.

I got the first shot about a year ago, and I can't quite remember when the last one was. But I didn't have any side-effects at all, a lot of good it did it me. I still managed to get the other HPP it doesnt prevent. I had to go get a cervical biopsy to check for cancer because I had an abnormal pap, but I don't think there's any connection between the two.

Gardasil Side Effects
My daughter has not been the same since receiving the Gardasil shot. She has been hospitalized three times, she has severe abdominal pain, almost constant low grade fevers, flushing, headaches, her kidneys started shutting down, fainting. It has been horrible. If you have not taken the shot please don't, don't let your children take it. This type of cancer has almost been irradicated in the US due to regular pap smears. It isn't necessary. This form of cancer can be treated anyway. Why risk DEATH, yes girls have died from this shot. It has changed my daughters life, it is debilitating. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T DO IT. I am heartbroken.

Gardasil
My daughter, Victoria, has been ill since February 2008.

Here is some history. I will be as brief as possible. My daughter had her first Gardasil vaccination November 2007. Her second vaccination was in the beginning of February 2008. Immediately after her second vaccination, Victoria experienced severe diarrhea and was nauseous for about eight weeks. She had blood work done many times and doctors thought she had a virus. On March 31, 2008, she had her first seizure. My daughter has treated with many neurologists, all of whom have not related her seizures to Gardasil. Meanwhile, there are quite a few hundred people that I have found over the internet through my numerous postings and through Erin Brockovich, and their daughters are all experiencing the same symptoms, which occurred after the Gardasil vaccination. We have actually formed a group and share our daughters' stories, symptoms and information. My daughter has had CT scans, MRI's, MRA's, EEG's, blood work and was hospitalized at an epilepsy center in the video EEG monitoring unit for two separate weeks in May 2008 and September 2008. She was put on many different seizure medications. After the normal EEG results, she was taken off all medications. Her SED rate has always been high and she does have protein in her urine, but doctors do not seem concerned. I was told that her red blood are small, but this apparently is not concerning either.

My daughter has been seen by several neurologists, a psychiatrist, psychologist, several neuropsychologists, an immunologist, several infectious disease doctors, and also treated a at Wellness Center for a period of time. Wellness Center physicians believe that my daughter may have Lyme disease that was dormant until the Gardasil vaccine. Infectious disease doctors differ. Which doctors are correct? I have no idea.

My daughter currently experiences the following symptoms: non-epileptic seizures, migraines, fainting, tremors, twitches, numbness, intermittent leg paralysis and facial paralysis, tingling, staring or blank episodes, eye pain, joint pain, neck pain, back pain, memory loss, confusion, brain fog, regression, mood swings and chronic fatigue. She continues to have bouts of nausea and diarrhea. She has not been in school since April 2008. My daughter can never be left home alone. She can't go to school, go out with her friends or work or has little "normalcy" in her life. She has very few good days and always says she doesn't feel good.

I do not know which way to turn for help. We have seen so many doctors and I can't seem to find anyone willing to help my daughter. There are so many other young girls who have the same exact symptoms as my daughter and the one thing that all of the girls seem to have in common is the Gardasil vaccination.

We are on a fixed income, as most people, and we have expended many thousands of dollars in an effort to seek medical opinions and assistance. Although we do have medical insurance, it is very difficult to find doctors willing to treat my daughter who will accept our HMO. Also, there are no "traditional medical doctors" who will relate my daughter's symptoms to Gardasil as I am told "there is not enough information available" about the vaccine and doctors believe it to be "safe" . The vaccine has been available for less than three years. Meanwhile, there are some doctors who are making the correlation between Gardasil and many of the girls' symptoms. However, the only doctors I know of right now are in California and Kansas. Other doctors are willing to "try" treatment, most of which is "homeopathic" in nature and extremely costly. Once again, I must reiterate that there are so many other young girls experiencing negative symptoms.

Each and every night, I check on my daughter many times in the middle of the night to make sure she is still breathing (like we ALL did when they were babies). I have a chime on her bedroom door so that every time she opens it, I know she has walked out of her room. I had a deadbolt put on the front door of our home with a key that can be removed from the inside. I never leave the key in the door for fear that Victoria will be confused after a seizure or when she has memory loss, and leave our home. (This has happened many times and she has been missing). When she is in the shower, I have to either stand outside the door and/or keep asking her "are you okay?"

Each and everyday, I cry and wonder if Victoria will be next one to die from adverse reactions to Gardasil.

We are in desperate need of medical treatment for my daughter. I have run out of ideas, doctors to treat with and finances have dwindled. I do not know which direction to turn. Any thoughts are most appreciated, especially from the medical community.

The National Vaccine Information Center is in the process of circulating a petition to have Gardasil investigated by the government. There are more than 15,000 reported cases of adverse effects from the vaccine which have been reported to the NVIC (many of the adverse effects are extremely serious) and approximately 38 deaths have been reported.

Please feel free to forward this information.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Gardasil and abdominal pain
My 17 y/o daughter had her first shot on Feb 23, 09. Immediately she experienced severe pain in her left arm as though "someone just broke it" she said. Then she had headaches, joint and muscle pain for the next 24 hours. Later, began sharp stabbing stomach pains high in her abdomen that radiate throughout and toward her back and left shoulder. She also has a persistent 'sour' upset stomach that has not increased to nausea yet, but has certainly impacted her ability to eat. Just 3 days ago she began losing her hair. She has seen a gastro, and now a pediatric gastro out of Children's memorial hospital in Chgo. She can barely get through a full day of school. She was supposed to go for her second shot last Friday, but came home in so much pain that we forgot. On monday I began to put this all together and she is not going back. Now I just have to find out how to get the little bit that is in her to leave her system. Any ideas?

My daughter and two of her friends all had abnormal pap smears after receiving the shot. I noticed someone else mentioned this and was wondering if it was related to the shot.

I would not recommend this vaccine for anyone unless you live in a third world country, have multiple sexual partners and no access to pap smears. Even then I would have think very carefully about it.

The risk of damage from the vaccine is far greater than the risk of the disease - BECAUSE this vaccine ONLY covers 3, yes ONLY 3 of the OVER 100 TYPES of HPV out there, and these 3 types are easily discovered in routine pap smears. These 3 types are NOT the dangerous cancerous types!

When discovered early (via routine pap smears) they are usually able to be treated and cured. Often the body's own immune system will eliminate the HPV infection on it's own. Do not take that statement to mean that you can skip routine paps! You must always follow your doctor's recommendations and have routine paps!

Of the types of HPV that cause cancer, these 3 types have a LOW RISK of cancer. The death rates of these 3 types of HPV is VERY VERY LOW in the US. Lower than the death rate and damage rate of the vaccine.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO DATA on the length of immunity provided by this vaccine as it has not been studied but we know that most vaccines if successful are effective for about 10 years or so. That means after 10 years there can be little if any immune effect of the vaccine while it's damaging effects should you suffer them can continue for a lifetime. If a girl is given the vaccine at 14 it will likely loose its effectiveness when she is 24. An age where she is more likely to be sexually active than she was at 14, and an age where she theoretically would actually need protection if you even believe in this vaccine.

The long term effects of this vaccine are simply unknown and unstudied.

The maker of the vaccine, Merck, like with all vaccines, cannot be sued by a patient who suffers an adverse reaction to the vaccine. If you attempt to collect damages, you have to go to special "vaccine court" in which you have to prove the damage was caused by the vaccine to win damages (which are usually needed to care for the person). Patients VERY RARELY win, almost NEVER. I can only think of ONE person ever and that is the case of Hannah Polling who suffered autism due to a vaccine. The maximum damages allowed is $150,000, not enough for lifetime care. This means any damages as a result of the vaccine (any vaccine) are your financial responsiblility regardless of the cost involved with the care of the patient. Look it up on the web for yourself.

Please, please do not allow your daughters to become guinea pigs.

Abdominal Pain.
I had gotten the first shot in June of '07, and the second in October '07. Soon after the second shot, i came down with a flu. I had woken up one night with awful abdominal pain, and tremors only on my right side. I went ot the hospital, and they gave me a nerve relaxer to stop them. This was 2 days before I was to leave for a 7 day cruise. During the cruise, i had severe abdominal pain, and i wouldn't eat because It only made it worse. I've seen multiple doctors, and I have yet to be diagnosed. I also have developed Lactose Intolerance, and Acid Reflux aside from my abdominal pain. It's been almost 2 years, and I have been living with this pain everyday. It come's and goes, but gets the worst right before my period. I'm currently 16 y/o, and trying to go day by day avoiding it, but it gets hard.I've had CT's, MRI's, Upper GI's, endoscopy's, and ton's of blood work done, and they've all come back negitive. Any ideas to throw out there?

The first shot I took I didn't notice anything really. after my second shot I started to get side affects and I refused the third one but the doctor held me down. all the side effects got worst after the third one. My mom is taking me to the doctor Oct. 28th to find out what's wrong with me. anyways I had noticed I was getting sick a lot and that the colds were lasting up to a month. I started to get dizzy spells. I would get up slowly and carefully but I would fall back down right away. I don't feel the need to eat because I get nausea. I eat because I need to and I started to lose a lot of weight. I'm know by all of my friends to love food, the smells, the flavor, and the texture. I want to be a chief so it's weird. I started having small episodes where I can't think, the world seems to freeze and fade out. sounds seemed to intensify and the world would seem like it was shaking. I would almost faint from this. my dad told me it was from lack of oxygen but I don't understand how that would happen. I don't like to run anymore because my bones and joints hurt also the fact is when I'm short of breath, I almost pass out from it. Everything started after I took the vaccine series and become worst after the last one. I'm hoping it'll go away someday and I'll get better. I still need to find out what's wrong with me...

Almost 3 years ago I received my first Gardasil shot and have taken all three. I have been having intestinal issues (Secratory IGA is only 10 instead of 400) and I have light candida, hypoglycemia, dry eyes, weakness in my legs, fatigue, trouble focusing, joint pain, female pattern hairloss, PCOS and now possibly endometriosis. I'm only 25 years old, 5'4 and 120 pounds...I eat healthy and exercise. So long story short, after seeing MANY doctors that told me I'm fine I just need to take BC pills for my PCOS and stress less...I'm finally being treated for the underlining issue. Apparently I have a combination of issues that seem to stem from the mercury in my metal dental filling, the aluminum from the Gardasil shot (research it) and Silicon and random chemical toxins. I'm having the filling replaced with composit by a mercury free dental specialist, taking pills that are suppose to detox my body and organs so that they will be strong enough to handle the detox from the metals, receiving acupuncture from a specialist that trained in Beijing and specializes in hormonal problems -she has me on custom teas to regulate my hormone production. I'm also taking sea kelp and selenium for thyroid support. I'm finally starting to have more energy and my skin is clearing up and my dry eyes are better. I hope that once the treatment is complete my hair will regrow and ovarian cyst will go away and I will finally be a healthy girl again. The mercury and aluminum cause harmonal issues, candida, thyroid promblems and auto immune problems that are reflected through the muscle and joint paint...you can research this. Anyone is more that welcome to write me if you would like my doctors info. I live in Atlanta, GA. I just wanted to share this with everyone as I have been researching, seeing doctors and specialist for 2.5 years now and it's taken me this long to see any light at the end of my tunnel. Good luck to you all. -Shanda
