Okay, here's the deal. I had my third child about 8 weeks ago. A couple of weeks after that I had three attacks. Then nothing for two weeks, then I had one attack the night before my six week postnatal check up. Had I not had the pain the night before I would never have even mentioned it to my dr. He sent me three days later for an ultrasound. They found two small stones...no edema no other problems. It is now three weeks later and I have not had another attack. I am on pregnancy medicaid and it runs out at the end of this month. I am scheduled to have my gallbladder removed next Tuesday. This would also leave me with no follow up care, becuase we cannot afford it. Also, no back up if I have any complications. Do I really even need to have this surgery?? I also have three children at home.

I'm not a doctor, but having the surgery with just two stones showing seems a little overkill to me. Why not wait and see... Adjust your diet and try to prevent new stones. If new ones keep forming, then maybe give in and do it. As long as you keep on top of it and make sure nothing worse is going on. I've had probably 5 bad attacks and I'm just now thinking it's probably gallstones. But thinking back, I probably had some smaller attacks as far back as 5-6 years maybe, but didn't realize what it was. My worse fear is that they look in there and see a disaster area. Last attack I had was 10 months ago. I'm still trying to improve my diet even more, which wasn't that bad to begin with. If I keep getting them, I guess I'll have to get it done.

re:
I've done several liver cleanses and the first few times I did it a lot of stones came out. Since then I've been noticing less of my allergies flaring up, a flatter tummy and less pains, which were similar to what you were describing. Not sure if your gallbladder was removed, but liver cleanses definitely helped me.
