I was admitted to the hospital on Friday with a severe stomach pain that would go all the way to my back. I was told I had pancreatitis at 1400 level and a 3 cm gallbladder stone. I was admitted to the hospital immediatelly. I had been with no pain for the last 48 hrs. The admitting doctor didn't even know why I was there. He had my file but no information on my diagnosis so I had to explain what happened all over again. He said that if the pancreas was swollen, before any surgery, I would have to have it to its normal size. He then said the specialist would talk to me. Several hours passed by, I felt no pain whatsoever and I finally asked at what time was a dcotor go talk to me about my condition. 10 minutes later the doctor shows up. He seems in a hurry and all he said was that I needed to have surgery. I asked if it was really necessary and he claimed yes,no explanation since was in a hurry to leave. I asked how come I didn't have any pain if I had been with no pain killers for more than 12 hrs. He said "you probably passed the stone". It didn't make sense if it was supposedly a 3 cm stone. Sunday Pancreas was at 100. He only came in to say I will operate tomorrow but still no information why gullbladder needs to be removed. Should I get 2nd opinion?
