Q: Gallbladder Disease
asked by: DoctorQuestion on August 3rd, 2009
I am recovering from gall bladder disease and have periods of lightheadedness and dizziness. I am no longer taking pain meds and have regular/normal bowel habits. I have also been eating regularly a low fat diet. I still have some bloating and gas. And I seem to have overactive digestion - I'm constantly hungry, even after having just eaten something. My surgery was about a week ago. Is this normal? when will these symptoms go away?

Hard to say, as every individual recovers differently from surgery. However, make sure that you are drinking enough fluids (and water, especially). Also, stay on a a healthy lowfat diet, with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.

If these initiatives don't resolve your symptoms, then you should follow-up with your surgeon.
