Q: Gall Bladder Sludge

I went to the Dr. last week for an ultrasound on my Gallbladder. I do not have stones but I do have a small amount of sludge in the bottom of my Gallbladder. Will this go away on it's own? And does anyone know if sludge can be caused by slow moving bowels? My Dr. wants me to have a HIDA scan done, but I would rather not. And I really don't want to have surgery.
