I have had Ibs type symptoms since January this year, which have not gone away, with my tummy being constantly bloated, I look pregnant and is constantly tender. Then in February I started getting problems which I thought was from a past ulcer problem, saw the gp and he confirmed took medicine and since have developed pain in my right upper abdomen which goes round to my upper back and into my right shoulder, this is happening most of the time, and am still getting lots of acid/gas. I am feeling totally drained and over the last week or so my appetite has gone. I am still working 9 to 5 but struggling to keep going. I have had a scan, which showed no gall stones, after speaking to various people they think I might have fatty liver disease, the pain does get worse when eating anything remotely fatty or greasy, although the pain is still with me most of the time. Does anyone else feel like this? I am due to see my doctor again to get the full results in a weeks time. Am feeling so down with this as it seems to have taken over my what was once active life and sapped all of my energy. Any comments or help would be welcomed.

Jenni: I'm very sorry you are going through this. Be sure you doc does a HIDA scan. This will tell how the GB is functioning or not functioning. I can tell you I've been experiencing similar symptoms. My pain is located right beneath the sternum (top of the stomach) and goes straight through to my back. When I'm not having this pain, my stomach is constantly upset. My primary doc ordered a CT scan to rule out some things. CT came back fine. She referred me to a GI doc who ran several tests (blood, endoscopy, HIDA and ultrasound). US showed I have a stone. HIDA showed 33% function. He recommended having the GB out due to the stone and function in combination. I'm waiting to hear from the surgeon. I am so tired of feeling bad and hope the removal of my GB will take care of the pain and nausea.

I hope you find out soon what is causing your trouble. Please post when you know. And, I know what you mean about feeling down and tired. I'm there right now.

Sherry: I am still waiting to see the specialist, but it was suggested that if my liver/gall bladder were not functioning properly then a liver cleanse might help. I have just finished doing this, it tool 9 days in total, I didn't find it easy to do, but have to say I feel a little better, i will need to do these regularly say every month or two until I do two consecutive cleanses and pass no stones. By doing this I am hoping that I do not have to have my gall bladder removed should this be the problem, as I have suffered wit ME in the past and by removing my gall bladder my liver will have to work twice as hard. I have problems with my immune system so don't want to add to this. See what you think of the liver cleanse the book I followed and passed 9 liver stones not gall stones, is by called the liver cleanse miracle by Andreas Moritz. It may not be for you, but sometimes the more information the better, plus I don't know your full medical problems. Let me know if you hear anything. The cleanse has lifted me, like I say not feeling great, but certainly not as terrible as I felt. Take care J
