hello, i'm trying to lose weight. i am 19, and at the moment i am 5'8'' and weigh 134 pounds. although i realise this is a healthy weight i would still like to lose a bit more. i am finding myself less and less inclined to eat properly but to be able to maintain a decent energy level i am eating fruit. normally i eat two or three apples and a few dried prunes, plus a glass of orange juice a day. one of my worries is that dried prunes can be fattening as they have a high sugar content? also, i realise this isn't a healthy diet but am unsure as to whether it is damaging to my body? do you know what the effects could be? thanks

Extremely eHealthy
Be sure that if there is one law about your body that you can trust to always be true, it is that excess is always unhealthy. Anything you do to the exclusion of a normal balance in your life is harmful to your health. This is especially true of diet. A Fruit only diet may be able to sustain you but over the long term it lacks the nutrition your body needs to function. If you want to reduce your weight below a normal level with diet I strongly encourage you to consult a nutritionist or personal trainer to protect your health.

Losing weight to improve your appearance won't do you much good if you screw up your skin or lose your hair because you aren't feeding yourself correctly.

Yes, I think you should consult a nutritionist who will give you sound advice about which fruits to take and the timing and quantity. They can also tell you about fruits which are fattening.
