I have a severe yeast infection. I'm on my 5th course of medication, Diflucan and antifungal suppositories. I was so swollen, inflamed and in great pain, that I decided an ice pack would relieve the symptoms. After 45 minutes, I did feel numb down there. But my underwear were stuck and so without thinking, I grabbed them and yanked away. Wrong thing to do. Part of my skin stuck to my underwear. I'm now bleeding, can barely urinate, can't wipe (it's too painful). I'm too embarassed to call the Dr. I know this will just take time to heal. Any ideas for what I can apply to the affected area to reduce the pain and speed healing? Thanks so much!!!

I would call a doctor (nurse's hotline or something) and ask if there is anything you can put on the wounds. My first thought is "Neosporin" but I am unsure if this is ok to put on the vagina. Also, if you call the nurse's hotline...you can just generally ask what they suggest to help in your situation. That way, you don't really have to look anyone in the eye and get embarrassed Smile

In the mean time try to drink a lot of water. Drinking a lot of water will help reduce the concentration of your urine so that the area doesn't burn when you try to go to the bathroom.

As for wiping try some baby wipes that are non-alcohol and non-fragrance. That will help reduce the irritation of wiping as has occurred from using toilet paper.
