I have front teeth that suffered from grinding - the dentin was exposed - I am in the process of getting braces, etc - but what happens is my front teeth/gum area hurts as the day goes on - I think its just from eating, etc - I know I do not grind anymore - as I wear a nightguard and am conscience during the day - My question is - would it ease the pain if I did wear a guard during the day when I eat - I tried aspirin, advil - but the only thing that eases the pain is eating or chewing gum

Hi and Welcome to eHealth
Not positively sure about wearingthe nigtguards while eating, is that possible? I would suggest you get some of hte baby teething soothing gel and rub your gums with this, its kinda numbs hthem and eases the pain. Too many advil, ibuprophen, aleeve and pain meds in general will eat your stomach lining. The braces are not gonna be a day at the beach either......Bestter get some oral gel just in case! Good luck Sweetie! F*GM

grinding
I also suffer from grinding. I find myself drinking fluids or gargling my mouth more often during the day in order to soothe the pain. It tends to help.

Don't know about wearing a nightguard - still haven't even tried one at night.

Did it take you a while to get used to wearing one?
