Q: Frightened by afterlife

I was starting to settle my panic attacks over this but I recently read that scientists in new york have proved we evolved from a monkey..So if this is true does it mean that there is no god that it's all evolution? This is all scaring me too much.

Couldn't God have guided evolution? Ever thought of that?

Plus, why do we still have monkey's? Wouldn't they have "evolved" by now?
