Hi,
I have been suffering from frequent swollen glads in the throat for over a year now. It seems to happen every 2-3 months but somtimes as often as 3-4 weeks apart. They can last from a few days to a week or so and then it goes away. I had my tonsills pulled out when I was a child. When I feel the glands they feel a bit swollen and tender and my throat hearts a bit. My concern is that this has been happening frequenty. I am particularly concerned about possible serious illnesses that this could be related to this. I have read lots of info and many website seem to suggest that this can be due to simple cold infections or something more serious like cancer or HIV. I don't engage in dangerous behaviours, have never had unprotected sex, but I did have a scarry experience when I was getting a haircut and my stylist cut his finger. He didn't notice at first but when he did he went to put on a bandage. His finger was bleeding pretty severly and I only noticed after he finished. He was touching my face while cutting my hair and i'm concerned that some of the blood might have gotten on me, but I don't know how likely that is. I hope I'm just being paranoid.
