my wife had a tubil ligation about 5 months ago, & every since she's been having 2 periods a month. it may come on 2 or 3 days before the month is out. is this normal or should she be worried? im really concearned

My wife had a tubal almost two years ago. She's had heavy bleeds on her period and they last longer then they used to. Plus she says sex hurts. She went to the doctor and was told those are signs of cervical cancer. She got a pap smear done. Now it's just waiting for the results. I'm freaked out. I hope it's just PTLS (Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome)
