Three months ago I fractured my pelvis and my tibia in 4 places and my fibula in three places and have an open wound. I have returned to the fracture clinic on two occasions, but as yet the bones are not starting to heal despite spending 11 weeks non weight bearing. I now have a boot called an equalizer walker to support my leg so that I can start to walk. My foot becomes cold and purple if it is not elevated. Should I only walk for short periods and have my leg elevated the majority of the time, or will I benefit from walking more?

My pelvis is starting to feel much improved after 3 months. Jan

This you should "Ask the Doctor" who you may contact here at the top of the page, or ask your own orthopedist...I am sorry, but I am not able to answer something I know nothing about...Do take care...This sounds so very painful....

Seek a second opinion from an orthopedic surgeon. At 3 months your fractures usually should be healing and you may need fracture surgery to create an improved environment for healing. Good luck
