And still having pain where fracture is and back of my heel. Also have some swelling where fracture is/was. It hurts to walk after sitting for a while or if I use it a lot. I was in an aircast for 10 weeks. I went and got all my x-rays today. The following are the reports written on my last 3 visits. All my Dr told me is it all looks good. I am wondering if I should get another opinion?
I am female 48 years old.

3/6/09
FINDINGS:
BONES: There is similar appearance of oblique nondisplaced fracture of the distal fibula. Mild callus
formation seen at the fracture margins. Ankle mortise is intact. Tibiotalar crows space is
slightly narrowed laterally..

SOFT TISSUES: Soft tissue swelling laterally has decreased.

OTHER: None.

CONCLUSION:
Healing nondisplaced fracture of the distal fibula with decreased soft tissue swelling.

3/27/09
FINDINGS:
BONES: Healing distal fibular fracture without change in alignment since the previous exam. Mild
increase in periosteal new bone formation at the fibular fracture site.

SOFT TISSUES: Normal.

OTHER: None.

CONCLUSION: Healing fracture as described above.
------------------------------------------ --------------------
5/11/09
FINDINGS:
BONES: Continued healing of the distal fibular oblique fracture with now moderate callus formation.
The fracture line is still visible. The articular surface is involved, but the ankle mortise is
intact. Mild degenerative changes are present

SOFT TISSUES: Normal.

OTHER: None.

CONCLUSION: Continued healing of the distal fibular fracture.

Thanks in advance....

First, how is it you fractured it?
It's possible that it is normal for it to still hurt. From what i do i encounter a lot of injuries. Some take a long time to heal completely because they don't get the chance before you start using it again.
I had an injury on my leg in January, no breaks or fractures but it is now may and its still sensitive. Taking age into consideration the older you are the slower your body heals.

I tripped and fell out of a trailer, about a 4 foot fall onto my ankle. It happened in January.
I just want to make sure from the reports I posted that things are on track and ok. I know age has to do with the time as well.

From the reports it sounds like everything is fine. I would think your doctor would have mentioned if something was not healing right?
I hope it gets better soon though!

These injuries can take time...I injured my ankle three years ago when we got the puppies...Fell over the fence in the Great Room where we had placed them...I don't know how I didn't break it...It still bothers me...I think ankle injuries are one of the most difficult to recover from...So much stress from all your weight...Give it time...Good luck...
