I'm interested to know ... do you still keep in touch with any of your foster parents or families?

Thanks for adding me to your friends list, I was just looking at what you have posted to and was suprized to see that you are adopted too.

I was raised by my real grandparents up until 6 then I lived 2 years with my real mom and suffered child abuse so was removed at age 8 and spent my years up until I was 14 in foster homes moving around.

When I was 14 I was adopted by my new mother, not family just her, and she took real good care of me, and I still talk to her just about every day.

I had a child at a young age that I put up for adoption, I picked his family out for him. They both had real good jobs and money for his college education so I let them adopt him.

I think about him from time to time, but I know I made the right choice giving him up for adoption.

I do keep up with one of the foster families that raised me for about 2 years, the Alvarez family. I still call them every few months to see how they are doing.

oh wow! that is a great storey. my husband and i are in the foster to adopt program as well as the adoption program through the governments child and family services. we have just completed the very last of our required work and just need the official thumbs up from our case worker before we get a placement. we hear so many negatives from people and there is alot of bad things that we have been prepared for by the agency so it is kindof scary. hearing positive things is really a relief. thanks for posting, it helps ease the apprehention Very Happy
