Hi there!
I'm into contraceptive pill for more than a year now. 2weeks ago was my placebo week (free pill week)..I took my 6th pill on my usual time but on my 7th pill I forgot to take it and had unprotected sex on that very day. I was 22hrs delayed in taking my 7th pill. The following day I took my 7th and 8th pill at the same time. Had no sexual intercourse since then. Just would like to know if what is my chances here of getting pregnant? I'm very much worried. Thanks.

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
If you have followed the missed-pill-protocol after missing active pill, you should remain protected. If you have not been sexually active after missing the pill, chances of pregnancy can be ruled out. Continue to take the pills at scheduled time daily, and wait and watch for your periods/withdrawal bleeding. Look out for development of any other new symptoms if pregnancy is suspected. If periods do not start within 10 days of expected period dates, or if you get abnormal periods, or if you suspect chances of pregnancy, consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for thorough examination (to confirm pregnancy related changes/signs in body) and blood/serum HCG level test (to confirm/rule out pregnancy accurately). Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. If pregnancy is suspected, do not get started on next scheduled pill pack, and stop the birth control pill use.
Take care.
