Q: Forearm pain

I believe I may have torn or strained something in my forearm. After playing a few hours of football over the weekend each day, Monday I was plenty sore.

I did some stretches and began doing some neutral pull ups. That's when handles protrude from the pull up bar perpendicularly. After three I felt a sharp pain and since then (2 days), the inside of my elbow is sensitive to the touch and it hurts to straighten my elbow.

I selected the area of pain here

One of the main reasons for posting this was to find out how I should treat my arm. I've been told with some injuries, the worst thing to do is baby it... so how about this one? Baby it? or perhaps do some light exercises with it? Common sense says not to treat it as if it were uninjured.

It's possible that you've injured a tendon, which is the white area in the picture. Tendons attach muscles to bones ... and if torn, need time to heal. I'd suggest that you see an orthopedic specialist in sports injury who can diagnose you. Forget the locker room medical opinion...you might need heat, or rest, or ice ... depending on what exactly happened. But seek help now!
