Q: foot fracture?

Last saturday, I was at a soccer game sitting on the sidelines wearing sandals and a teenage boy ran off the sidelines during the game and ran right over the top of my foot with his cleats. I have had swelling on the top of my foot, my toes have been going numb, I have had pain when I move it and even when I am sitting still. And sometimes, I have this weird shooting pain up into my ankle. My husband seems to think that since I can still walk on it that it is a sprain or some busted blood vessels. He told me to take advil and wrap it and I have done this but everytime I wrap my foot with an ace bandage, it starts throbbing so bad that I can't stand it. If it was a sprain or busted blood vessels would it have gone away by now? I am wondering if you think it warrants a visit to the doctor and do you think it is possible that it is a fracture? If it is a fracture would I be still able to walk on it?

I would greatly appreciate your advice.

Thanks,
CJH

Your Foot Injury
It is good to see a doctor on this injury CJH.

I had a foot injury by just twisting my foot in the wrong direction and I suffered through over six weeks of being unable to walk properly. I believe that you can have a ligament damaged and even with x-rays, it sometimes will require an MRI to determine the ultimate damage.

Sometimes, it is better now than later to take care of it. It doesn't go away and you will have to have it seen to.

Good luck. Let us know how you are doing.
