I recently had food poisoning, I pretty sure i got it from fish at a fast food restaurant, It has been 3 1/2 days and my stomach is still nauseated. I have only had diarrhea 2 times during and only vomited up bile about 4 times, the abdominal cramps have stopped as of last night. Should I still be concerned that I shouldn't eat, I'm afraid it will cause the vomiting to start again. Any advice would be helpful as i am becoming weak.
It is common after infections due to food poisoning to cause issues with absorption, resulting in conditions like diarrhea, to persist for some time.
But eventually it will subside and you will get back to normal, as before.
To speed up this process, you can take probiotic supplements, for a few days, which will help in resolution of your symptoms. In the mean time, avoid eating high calorie and high fat foods, which will worsen your symptoms. Try to eat light and healthy food with 1-2 servings of fruits and vegetables in your daily diet.
