I was diagnosed with FMS almost 7 years ago after having viral meningitis. I have all the regular pain symptoms, including arthritis in my knees and feet and in the last few months have started to get severe cramping in my legs. I get amazing headaches and migraines (I have one everyday, its just the severity that changes), never sleep properly no matter how many hours i am asleep (always feels like I've been asleep for 5 mins even if its been 9 hours), but the worst part for me is the constant feeling of flu like symptoms. I get a lot of chest infections/pnumonia and catch any bugs that are going round. The bizarre thing is, my CRP and ESR levels are high and the doctors have no explaination for this. I have also put on a LOT(almost 50kgs) of weight, which went on so quickly you could literally see it going on daily. I have no social life (as you can imagine) and cannot commit to anything as I dont know from one day to the next how sick I will feel. The most frustrating thing I think tho, more than anything else, is that everytime I feel ill, or have chest pains etc, it is blamed on FMS. Ive looked up numerous websites and noone seems to have the flu like symptoms I have. I have been tested for every imaginable thing and have had all the brain scans/body scans that you can think of. This is all they could come up with, even with my raised inflammation levels (which all my doctors and specialists have told me is not part of FMS but they dont know what is causing it). Could you please help me? As you can imagine, I am at the end of my patience and it is starting to give me severe "guilt trips' where my hubby is concerned because of the amount of pressure it is putting on him and out marriage. Any advice would be hugely appreciated.
