I don't know what it is. Embarrassingly, my boyfriend fingers me sometimes and the last time he said to me what's that flap thing. Of course I was like what are you talking about. So I checked and yeah.. about 1 inch in my vagina there is this weird flap. like you can flick it.. and it's big.. not small but not too big and it doesn't hurt at all. I was wondering if this is normal, do you have it? I don't know what can describe it but it feels like I have two holes in my vagina.. like two pathways into my cervix or something lol I don't know.. it's hard to describe. Ok.. let me use pie lol you stick your finger in it and about 1 inch in you feel a cherry but it's more of a flappy shape.. like a triangle and you flapping the tip and it's hard flesh like and you can flick it and kind of stick your finger in more on the sides of it. Well I hope that give more detail lol HELP!

If you've been to your OB/GYN or have an a doctor examine your vagina, and he/she said nothing about the flap, its normal.

Vaginal Cherry Pie?
Man, I've never heard of comparing a flap in my pap to a cherry in a pie. Does it really have a pie-like texture or is it more like the inside of a gummy bear? Im so confused. Is it more like a flap or a round bulge like a cherry?

It's funny you'd mention cherry pie. from what you're describing it sounds like a remnant of your hymen. I'd also suggest you go to speak with your OBGYN and have it examined. I don't think it's anything to worry about but it's best to know what's going on with your body.

I have that too... its like a muscle almost, and I always wondered what the hell it was. I've been checked by my doctor on a regular basis, and she's never said anything about it. I don't want to ask her either... Could get awkward! >.<

Still, a relief to know I'm not the only one. ^^

yea, I have this weird flap, I don't think it's the same thing you're talking about, but right on the inside of my vagina there's this little flap, not like the rest of the skin in my vagina, it's just some weird flap. Sad i'm so confused

I do, too! I've always wondered if this was totally abnormal or not, since you never see something like that on a female genetalia diagram or anything. It is some relief to know I'm not the only one.
Mine is near the opening, not too far in maybe a half inch, on the back side of the wall (not towards the clitoris). My ob/gyn has never mentioned it before and it seems like there are other women out there with the same thing so I guess it's not as strange as I thought. (The hymen theory posted does make sense, too. that's probably what it is.)
Oh, and to a couple of the other posters, we are talking about a little flap or bump of tissue on the vaginal wall near the opening, -NOT- the cervix, which is all the way at the back vaginal canal and opens to the uterus.

That will be your hymen. When you were developing in your mothr's uterus, the hymen totally covered your vaginal entrance to protect your insides. Once your insides developed and before your birth, estrogen secreted by your mother caused a hole to form in the hymen. After you were born, your hymen was a thin tightly stretched membrane covering at least part of the vaginal entrance.

Some time during puberty, your body had an estrogen surge whuich caused your hymen to thicken., become very elastic an pull back slightly to the rim of your vaginal entrance.

skin flap and looks like holes just inside opening of vagina
last poster, dont post like you know what youre talking about.the opening to the cervix is at the back of the vaginal canal. For my job, I look into vaginas held open by speculums all day, for infertility tests where a catheter is placed thru the cervix into the uterus. ive seen tons of them. i know what normal or at least semi-normal with normal variances look like. and this isnt a hymen or remnants of it. i have it too. almost looks like i have a couple urethras that lead nowhere. and i never noticed it before. there is also a small(about 1/2 inch long) skin flap sort of hanging down from the ceiling(i guess) of the vaginal opening. but that is seperate from the other definitely extra tissue just inside my vaginal opening. and, it is not normal. im not saying its dangerous or serious, but out of the 100s of vaginas ive seen, ive never seen it before. so, i consider this abnormal.

Out of all the girls' vaginas I've stuck my fingers up, at least 50% have what the OP describes. What I can't figure out though is which path my rabbit takes. Whatever it is, nothing to worry about LOL
