If you're having a normal pregnancy, sex is considered safe during all stages of the pregnancy. Risk factors that make sex during pregnancy unsafe include:
* a history or threat of miscarriage or pre-term labor
* unexplained vaginal bleeding, discharge, or cramping
* leakage of amniotic fluid
* placenta previa
* weak cervix
* multiple fetuses
Your baby is protected by the amniotic sac and the strong muscles of the uterus. There's also a thick mucus plug that seals the cervix and helps guard against infection. A fist or a penis should not come into contact with the fetus during sex.
Why and how does fisting work for you?
