Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum.
The whitish-yellowish discharge with odor suggests chances of infection. It could be due to introduction of infection while putting in the IUD, you should consider requesting your gynecologist for a test done on the discharge to identify infective agent (a smear test and a culture sensitivity test). This time get your partner also treated simultaneously to prevent chances of re-infection.
Take care.
