hi I'm 21 and up until last November my period was like clockwork, /- 28 day cycle. then it all just went crazy. had my period for 18 days and then i would have it again after 2 weeks for 10 days or so. this went on for a few months. had a pelvic sonar done and everything was normal. the doctor put me on OVRAL to regulate my cycle. I've been on it for a week now and since yesterday i started feeling a pain in my right ovary and this morning it felt like menstrual cramps. is this normal?

It can be.

Cramps are a common side effect of birth control pills, but if it it doesn't go away or hurts too much then ask your doctor about it.
