my granddaughter had sex for the first time about 6 weeks ago. she is 14. her period in september was the last week of the month into the first few days of October. She had sex some time after her period. She then started her period again around the 17 or 18th of October. Is there cause for concern. Can she be pregnant. Will she start on time this month. She started her period when she was 10 and has never really had a regular period. By that i mean she sometimes had a period the first week , the second week, the third week, the fourth week, but here lately they were somewhat regular. Please give me some advice and answer my question.

If she started her period then she isnt pregnant. What did she use for protection? Also, it isnt normal for someone to have their period so irregularly like your granddaughter does, and now that she is sexually active i would take her to the gyn for an exam to make sure all i well. 10 is VERY early to start your period. Good Luck!!!

protection
she used a laytex condom that she went to the drugstore and purchased herself and then made sure it was used.

Good for her! that was smart of her, and if the condom was intact then she is fine!

normality
since she had her period 2 weeks early in October when should she expect her period this month. Like I said she had begun to be pretty regular. Did she start early because she had sex for the first time. She has not had sex since and I don't think she will again anytime soon.

you stated that you, i mean she, has very irregular periods, so it is impossible to predict when the next one will be. she should see a gyn. to find out why they are so irregular.

It would probably be a good idea to take her to the gynocologist. Now that she's sexually active, she needs to be examined. The gynocologist can also prescribe birth control pills, which will protect her from pregnancy and also help to regulate her cycle.
