mle, don't worry about a thing...worry won't change one thing...and it definitely won't make anything better. the pap is no biggie. women do it all the time. i know it's kinda traumatic the first time, but the main thing you need to do is relax...seriously. just relax. it's gonna be ok.

i understand where you are and what you're going through. i'll say a prayer for you. just don't worry, and focus on relaxing. it only takes a couple of minutes and you can do it. no biggie...i promise. it's not as much painful as it is uncomfortable, but even that is just for a minute so don't stress over it...stress will make it much worse...just let it go and do your girl thing. be strong sister!

Hey Mle,

My first pap test was also when I was 17-18 years old. I didn't get to plan mine though I went into the doctor for a totally different reason. He asked me if I was sexually active and of course I was not going to lie to my doctor haha. He made me have a pap as soon as possible! I was nervous for a second but I am very comfortable with my doctor it doesn't bother me to get things checked. I completely understand you being scared or nervous because there may be a chance of STD but don't sweat it. Just be calm relax your legs and let it happen.

It does not hurt one bit! If you have been sexually active I believe all you will feel is the coldness from the gel. The only thing I worried about was later on in the night it felt like every time I went to the bathroom it felt like I was peeing jello haha!

Goodluck in the future! Make sure if you are negative with the STD's always wear a condom and be safe!

hi mle...
i'm so glad things went well for you. i'm very proud of you, and i'll be happy to continue to pray for you! i'm also glad that you didn't have any STD's. now what you need to do is just to be cautious, go back and think about what you did that could have exposed you, and be sure you know how to avoid that exposure in the future.
i am really happy for you and proud of you. you're all grown up now! ha!

it doesn't sound stupid or weird to feel a little "changed" by thngs like a first pap. at least it doesn't sound stupid to me. if it is stupid mle, you and i will be stupid together! i did get the hpv shot. i remember it being tender but i don't remember it hurting too much. see what time will do for you? hahaha. it makes you forget pain! i am not on any b/c, but my b/f and i use condoms every time we do it, so we're good to go! tell us if you notice any changes from depo.
