Dear creknyw and welcome to ehealth: I wish I could help you on this, but I am not a doctor.....However, it may have something to do with the seeds losing their radioactive effect over time...If I were you I would call and ask your doctor...He/she would be the most knowledgeable on this answer...Good luck and take care...
