asked by: DoctorQuestion on July 7th, 2008
For the past few weeks every day I wake up I have a sore or swollen index finger on my left had. I am wondering what is causing this. It is very painfull. It feels like it is broken, even though it is not. Throughout the day the soreness and stiffness disappears. What do you think is happening or causing my sore finger?

It is hard to tell without examination but you might have an inflammation of the finger joints or inflammation of the tendons’ synovial coverings. You may want to consult your primary health provider.
