I recently went to my doctor complaining about a stiff/sore neck and an obvious small lump under the skin (halfway between my spinal cord and left ear. Because there are other people I know that have had a sore neck ongoing for weeks due to a winter virus, but no lump, she thought it could be a infection as well. I work out often and have a desk job. The movement of looking to the monitor down to my desk and back up again is when my neck hurts. I also have a broken filling in my furthest left molar and am wondering if because I have not taken care of it could this be causing an infection? I have no other cold/flu symptoms.
