Hello,

I am 19 year old who has been struggling with depression for at least 4 years. I always feel so numb. Its like I can't feel happy or even get angry. I sleep for at least 12 hours a night and always have a hard time making myself get up and even when I am able to make myself get up finding the motivation to take a shower and get ready for the day is almost impossible so i lounge around the house in my pajamas and eat everything in sight. I have no dreams or goals for life and when i try to do something like go to college i lose motivation half way through.I am always so down and never do anything with friends I am almost always either at work or home. This plus the fact that i have literally no sex drive has pushed my boyfriend of almost two years to the point of giving up on our relationship.

First of all, anyone is going to tell you to see a pyscologist, and go from there. It is a long road and a long battle but, you also have try and stay away from those triggers that are the culprit. Sorry, yes it could be a relationship.

same situation..i understand
i've struggled with depression for 18 years and i've experience all of your symtoms. anyone who gets in a relationship with me knew that my mood was up and down. i seen a therapist and was on prozac, the therapist help the prozac did not. you should try st.johns worth to raise your serotonin level, try going to church, pray, stay around positive people, force yourself to get up, clean up, shower, it makes you feel good in the end. are you able to see a therapist because it helps. no one was able to help me when i explained how i felt. finally pamper yourself with something simple a bubble bath with relaxing music. im in a support group and it makes me feel good about myself but im still in battle with depression. please dont issolate yourself.

I am trying to find a counselor but i cant afford it really because I don't have insurance I can really only afford like twenty a session. lol i know, good luck on that... and I can't do st. johns wort because of my birth control. As to my boyfriend triggering me... it usually doesnt work that way unless we are fighting, which isnt usually very often. I think my biggest trigger is being stuck in the house. I dont drive so when i dont work durig the workweek and my boyfriend takes the car and goes to work and I am stuck at home. I would love to get my license and a car so I could take my two dogs to the dog park. thank god for them because without them i would go crazy by now.

For people who don't have insurance i would suggest herbs. there's other herbs you can take. I've taken prozac and it didnt do anything to raise my happy mood (serotonin level). but if you feel stuck in the house you have to do things that keeps you busy. walking the dogs, find a hobbie. i m not working right now and i get depressed sitting in the house also.
