help! I'm so frustrated. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 3 years ago. i struggled with finding a medication that helped and lyrica does the best. it cause edema in my lower extremities and makes me soooo sleepy but I accepted this. I literally drained myself financially trying to pay my medicl premiums and medication bills. I finally was approved for social security disability and, as luck would have it my long term disability company decides to terminate benefits. my disabity is not only for fibro. I also have severe degenerative disc disease and depression. currently my frustration is that i had medicare covering my meds and do have part D. a few days ago the pharmacist said that the cost for the lyrica was $300+. I just cried. I can't anddont have the resources to do this again. I have tried neurontin and something else in the past that didnt help as well as lyrica. does anyone have suggestions

I was diagnosed with Fibro about 8 yrs ago, I have found taking Savella in the morning to be helpful, the pharmacist told me it stops adrenaline from breaking down between the nerve endings. Lyrica I only take at night because it can really cause drowsiness, be careful with lyrica too much can really knock you for a loop. I started with 75mg and now take 300mg so more is not always better. If you begin to have trigger point pains, that is dime size areas that radiate pain elsewhere, I have a book to help me find where the trigger point is from where I am hurting. You can just rub the spot itself or the best thing I have found for relief, though short lived, is Voltaren gel, it is a gel for inflammation in joints but have found it to be the only thing to help with the trigger points. You can also request a card that will make your Lyrica only cost $25.00 a month for a year we got it from our doctor, the number on the card to call is 1-800-578-7076 hopefully it will help you with the cost of your Lyrica.
