Hey there. I was wondering about some symptoms I have been expiriencing. I have a doctor suspicious that I might have fibromyalgia, but I am not so sure...

For the past couple of years, I have been having irregular heartbeats. This has not concerned my cardiologist since my heart appears normal. I have since learned to live with the feeling.

Within the past year, I have had a consistant fever( daily between 99 and 101), enlarged lymphnodes, extreme fatigue, rashy (non raised) skin, loss of appetite, among amy other similar symptoms. My doc said might be fibromyalgia due to some joint pain. My right hip feels arthritic. The joint burns and causes me rather severe pain if i lay on that side for too long. I suspect is arthritis, due to a broken foot, 4 surgeries on said foot and the better part of four years suffering from a abnormal (limping) gait.

Please someone tell me if there are common symptoms of fibromyalgia! I am not sure, havent heard of anyone suffering from lymphnode issues and fevers who have this diagnosis.

Thank you for your input!!!

There is a simple test that a *qualified* physician can do, one that knows about FMS...

There are 17 trigger points on the body to confirm fibro and when she / he puts pressure on those areas and it causes great pain (I don't recall the exact number of areas that must be painful to be considered FMS, I'm thinking it's 6 or 9). Joint pain alone does not mean fibro. FMS over the years has been a catch all for physicians who can not pinpoint what the problem would be so they will prescribe medication to treat the symptom & more meds to treat the side effect of other meds instead of researching and determine the underlying cause of an illness & label it as FMS.

Generally when someone has a fever that is a sign that something is wrong and if you lymph nodes are enlarged as well. This is not a common symptom of FMS.

Have you had any other tests? Are you comfortable with your current doc?

From personal experience I was dx'd with true fibro 8 years ago and it was pure torture with the 24/7 pain but being the trooper that I am...stuck it out and then this year I tried an anti-inflammatory diet (FMS & arthritis is due to inflammation) and my pain went from a 10 to a 0 in a few weeks and lost several pounds along the way. I am have learned over the months what foods trigger pain...never would have thought that FMS for many people is an allergic reaction to the items that we place into our body.

I previously posted the anti-inflammatory diet ... if you are interested in it and can't locate it...let me know and I'll be more than happy to forward to you.

Thank you for your reply. I understand that the other symptoms I am expiriencing are not common symptoms of fibro. Makes me wonder why my doc wants me to be tested for it. But I figured I would ask those who would know best! Smile I am rather frustrated with this whole ordeal! I am working on getting myself in to a different doc. I dont think I am dealing with fibro, and I hope I am not. Fibro is no joke. I just wonder if that doc doesnt know what to do with me and wants to lump me into some diagnosis. I surely hope not! Thank you for your reply and I wish you the best!

Is it fibro?
I had a total hysterectomy in feb. of this year using the davinci robot. Since the surgery, I've had numerous physical problems. I have had CT scans, a full cardio work-up, blood work, and numerous other tests. The only one to come back abnormal was my EEG. The rest of the symptoms not related to my syncope, the doctor has placed aside. These are my symptoms:
Severe IBS, TMJ, restless leg syndrome, anxiety, heart palpatations, pain in the rib area, migraines, optical or silent migraines, lack of concentration, vertigo, muscle and joint pain, severe leg pain and burning, neck tension and pain at the base of my neck, feel need to urinate often but no UTI, always tired even after sleeping nine hours, uncomfortable sleep, stiff ankles and legs after lying or sitting too long, indigestion and acid reflux, and I live this way every day.
Some days are better than others, but I can't get the doctors to listen. They think this is all in my head. I've had four episodes of sincope in the last six months, and this is what they want to chek out. I have the rest of these symptoms everyday. HELP!?!?!?!?!?!?! I don't know where else to turn. Am I really crazy? Is it all i my head? If it is, it is the most painful mindtrip I've ever had. I'm 31 with a 3yr old and a 2yr old. I can't function like this. Any help or advice would e greatly appreciated.
