I need advice. I am 23 yrs old and i was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and sever endometriosis back in 1999 and as time has gone by i have gotten worse and the dr's are giving me no hope why is that?
I was told i would never be able to have a baby and that i should get a hysterectomy when i turned 21 but when i was 19 i was convinced i would get pg with my spouse and i would do whatever it took no matter what it meant to my body i would get pg, within a yr i was pg and now have a beautiful 3yr old little girl however since then i have remarried and were trying to have our own little family so my question is why have we lost two babies? is there something i am doing wrong or is it just god saying it's not my time. Also when is the best time to start trying like i mean b4 your period or after?

Hi yvonne,

I think that the issue of fertility and conception has less to do with the diagnosis of fibrmyalgia and more to do with endometriosis. Endometriosis is a condition in which the tissue that normally lines the uterus (endometrium) grows in other areas of the body, causing pain, irregular bleeding, and possible infertility. The cause of endometriosis is unknown.

How well surgery helps improve fertility depends on the severity of the endometriosis. Pregnancy rates after surgery in women previously considered to be infertile are approximately 75% for mild endometriosis, 50-60% for moderate cases, and 30-40% for severe cases. I suggest that you consult your gynecologist for more information and to check up on the health of the endometrial tissue.

surgeries
the first surgery was back in 1999 it was the begannning of a long prossess of lots of surgeries to come. It was to remove all the endeometriosis i had. then i had one in july 2002 then i had to have two back to back because it was so bad. In 2003 it has spread all over my stomach like ovarys, tube and even my bowels so then i had my last one in Dec of 2004 right after i got married. But somehow i got pg right after it.
