Hey, first post, hope this is correct section.
I'm 16 and for two weeks after thanks giving I was constipated and I got so tired of it I just decided to eat fiber everyday. [Raisin bran 25% daily fiber = 1 serving]
It made me pass gas, alot, and I wonderd if I even need 100% daily fiber.
So recently I stoped eating the cereal, and everything seems Ok, just wondering if I should always eat fiber, alot of it.

And a question about staying healthy.
If I dont spefically eat healthy [Arizona ice tea] will fiber help me? The way I thought it worked was, if I eat not-so-great, any extra garbage in me would just get sent out alot faster due to fiber so there wouldnt be any build ups of bad stuff, but my friend told me it still effects me in the long run. I thought food was just energy, you use it, then your done with it. . . Though I know like alcohol would cause liver problems but I didnt think normal food caused long-term life expectancy differences..

Basically.. Lots of fiber, and I figured keeping arteries clear so your heart could chill, and you'd be fine. . Yes? No? 'Cuz eating healthy is expensive.. I could get a meal with 2$ at wendys or something. [I know.. fast food = X_X ]

Anyways I'm done rambling.. Healthy tips?

EAT FIBER! Fiber not only keeps your bowels functioning, it absorbs toxins, lowers cholesterol, stabalizes blood sugar and helps to lower risk of many diseases. When you increase fiber your body will rebel a little while it gets used to it, just increase it slowly and drink lots of water.

This whole "eating healthy is expensive" is a rubbish. 2 slices of whole grain bread, organic peanut butter, a carrot and apple is a healthy lunch and costs less than $2.00. Our health is priceless, food is one way to safe guard it. The odd crappy meal is not going to kill you, god knows sometimes we need to splurge but try to eat 80% good stuff.
