Pancreas Disorders Answer A6279

The exact cause for the chronic pancreatitis was not given.
There are many possible causes for chronic pancreatitis. One which is rather rare and might be omitted by the doctors is the autoimmune chronic pancreatitis. In this type, elevations in ESR, IgG4, rheumatoid factor, ANA and antismooth muscle antibodies might be detected.
The treatment depends on the cause for the chronic pancreatitis.
