fetus low in uterus
Posted: 03-28-08 15:15pm

I was told after my 20 week ultersound that my fetus is lying low in my uterus. I was told to take it easy and to have an other ultersound at 30 weeks to see if the baby has come up. What will happen if the baby doesn't come up in my uterus?

the fetus is lying low or the placenta? i don't understand how a fetus could be lying low or why that would be a problem. a low lying placenta could be a problem though and they do monitor that through ultrasounds, so... could that be what they meant?

they probably couldn't get a good view of it. If it's too low, they can't get the wand in a position to correctly measure everything. It's nothing to worry about.

Like bridget said, if it's the placenta, it's a little more to worry about. Because if it's covering your cervix, you will HAVE TO have a c-section, or else there's a HIGH chance you'll bleed to death Crying
or Very sad

Good Luck!
