Q: Fertile days of cycle ?

Hey everyone,
My last cycle was 45 days, and that was my first cycle after stopping the BC pill. Now I'm on day 32 and I'm wondering how long my cycle is going to last this time. If I have another 45 day cycle, when am I most fertile? when should I ovulate?
My husband and I are ready to start our family and really want a 2010 baby. I feel really impatient and hate the wait. I've already taken 2 home pregnancy tests, both negative, but I'm wondering if it's too early to tell. Please advise!!!

it make take a few months before your body goes back to normal and you actually ovulate. it would be silly of you to expect it to happen right away, even if you werent on birth control previously and knew how long your menstrual cycles were.

but, the rule of thumb is that a woman ovulates 14 days before her next period is due. so.. if youre going to maintain a 45 day cycle, then you would be ovulating around day 39. which would be tomorrow! so.. definitely spend some alone time with the hubby today and for the next few days =) your most fertile days are the day before ovulation, the day of ovulation, and the date after ovulation. they are basically the only days in your cycle that you can become pregnant.

also, the pregnancy hormone generally doesnt show up on a home pregnancy test as a positive until about 10-14 days after conception. so, unless youre having a shorter cycle this month, i think it is too early to test.

wow.. my math skills really suck today. you wouldnt be ovulating tomorrow, you ovulated 9 days ago on day 29!!!

sorry for the confusion. for some reason (even though i saw and typed 45) i was thinking your cycle was 55 days. my apologies.

this also alters the pregnancy test... you should be able to start testing now.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to wait until next week before I take another test. Who knows, I might start my period by then.
