feeling terrible, how long does it take tablets to work?

Ihave been on citropam andd propranonol for nearly four weeks but I am still having panic attacks at night tight chest sweating dry mouth feeling tightness in my throat feeling terrible to be honest why is this haappening and how long does it take these tablets to work have been too the hospital had ecg chest xray and blood tests all normal what's going on its driving me mad
