I just found out that I have gall stones. It wasn't all that great and exciting, but I was happy that I finally found out what has been wrong with me. I had symptoms like nausea and some diarrhea after eating out (which alwasys sucked if I was out on a date or out with friends...seriously, it's totally not fun to say excuse me to your date and then disappear off to a public restroom or worse--his bathroom). I finally had my first attack and actually pushed away and got snappy at my boyfriend for trying to cuddle me becuase I was feeling so much nausea. I didn't have pain in this one. It was about a week later I ended up crying from both pain and nausea. It was the worst feeling in the world. After a lot of pleading with me, my boyfriend got me to get into bed and to fall asleep. Over the course of the next few days, I felt like crap. I was tired, tender, and felt sick....actually, I still am feeling this way and it's been like a month since my first attack. I have felt what I have been considering minor attacks since then that occur about once a week. Since being diagnosed, I have to wait two weeks to even talk to a surgeon (I still have about a week to go). I am just breaking down from feeling like crap constantly. I love my job, but it's very high stress, so I know that it's not really helping out the situation. I'm a sexual assault therapist, so I have to fake not feeling like crap while I'm sitting with my clients, which is not always easy. Does anyone have any advice on how to cope with all of this waiting??? And is there something I can do to stop feeling so tired and sick and tender all of the time??? I would really appreciate anything!

Well, here's what I've been doing (my appt with surgeon is on Tuesday):

-Extremely low fat diet. Toast, veggies, rice, applesauce, yogurt, cereal is pretty much what I've been living on.

-Eating small meals. This helps with the bloating and nausea.

-A heating pad on the gallbladder works wonders.

-Sleep on your left side if you haven't already figured that out.

Some people take pain relievers for the pain. As for the stress thing, there's not much you can do about that except just know that it'll all be taken care of soon.

Back when my symptoms were more mild, drinking a big glass of water with some grape juice helped at the first sign of an attack.

a glass of water first thing in the morning with some fresh squeezed lemon juice will help to cure your illness, lots of filtered water 2-3 litres, eat lots of salad greens. If u drink plenty of water you should also be having natural unprocessed sea salts in your diet as this will help your digestive system function properly. if u want 2 know more i am willing to help with any questions u might have.

I know how you feel. I'm in the same boat, three more weeks until surgery. I go from feeling fine, to nauseaus and back again several times a day. No energy, and just wish I could drop my college class (late bloomer at 40 ) and go have the surgery tomorrow. But it's a nursing program and unfortunately taking time off until October is not an option. The applesauce sits well. I hope you feel better soon.
