Does anyone else have this?

I am 26 years old and should have no reason to fear this, but ove rthe last 6 months 3 times now I have been convinced I was having a hearth attack.

2 times too emergency, got 2 x ECG and one time chest x-ray which were normal.

The last time began with heartbeat, I dont know what caused it, maybe food or caffeine. To the doctor and given Xanax which helped.

But I still get this irrational fear of my heart and fear excersising to hard etc, constantly feeling how I feel in my chest, and if i have some pain or discomfort i get nervous.

What can I do to get over this?

The doctor said ultrasound can rule of structural heart disease. This would probably help easy my mind.

Any one else feel like this?

hey!

i sort of know how you feel..

i get palpitations where it feels my heart has skipped a beat and then races.
also sometimes get a sharpish pain or a sort of pressure feeling.

not to be complainin or anythin lol.

iv been to a n e twice over sharp pains, i got a chest x ray and everything was normal. iv had a whole bunch of ecgs and even a 7 day monitor. and still they tell me theres nothing wrong..
they said it was anxiety.

i know what you mean bout the age thing im 17 and completely freaked bout these heart things. iv avoided sports and stopped running because im scared something will happen.

iv stopped caffeine too. dont drink coke or anything and yet i still get them =[

iv never had an ultrasound but id say its pretty unlikely you have heart disease especially if your healthy and exercise.

could be a wee bit of arrythmia which is no harm at all! just a wee bit of extra electrical signals in the heart.

or could just be anxiety it can do a whole bunch of stuff to your body.

anyway hope this helps!!

Anxiety
Hi Cammi,

It sounds like you might be experiencing anxiety. A couple months ago I had a really bad panic attack, where I thought I was having a heart attack. After that every little pain in my chest scared me to death thinking that I was going to have a heart attack. I went to the doctor and was told i am in perfect health but I suffer from anxiety/panic. Unfortuantely a lot of the symptoms can make people think that they are having a heart attack. Even after finding out i am healthy if I get chest pain I still get scared.
