I am a 21 year old male. I am 5'11 approximately 285-290..I suffer from panic attacks and hypochondria..I know it's a bad habit, but I am constantly checking my pulse...when I check my pulse when I first wake up (still lying in bed) it feels faint and very fast..it also feels somewhat irregular...i've been to two doctors recently and both said i was probably suffering from anxiety..i don't have high blood pressure..they both listened to my heart and said it was okay...is this normal? what could be the cause of this? my first guess is that maybe because of my weight i'm putting alot of strain on my heart at night? should i be worried about this? any input would be greatly appreciated

Do you have any chest pain with the other symptoms in the morning? There are many things that could be causing changes in your pulse, anxiety included. Do you suffer from any other symptoms of anxiety? It seems like if you are checking your pulse every morning when you wake, you are worried about it.

Have you talked to your doctor about your weight? That could also be the problem.

Here is a link to a website regarding the symptoms of anxiety. Maybe it will be of some help to you.
