I have three children ages 4, 2 and 3.5 months. The 4 year old is on nectar thick liquids. The 2 year old was on nectar thick liquids (starting 7/09), then bumped to pudding thick (starting 12/09) and now to pudding thick (5/10). The 3.5 month old is being sent for a swallow study because he developed aspiration pneumonia last week.

What could cause dysphagia to run in families?
