I am 7 weeks pregnant with my 4th child - I have also had 6 miscarriages - we went to a childrens fairground today and I stupidly agreed to go on, what looked like a very tame waltzer, with my upset oldest child of 8. It was so fast and extreme I came off feeling sick, dissorientated and so upset at the potential harm it could have caused my baby. I immediately googled fairground rides in pregnancy and advice is to avoid all rides. I can't believe I've been such a fool and so am looking for some reassurance if there is any to be had

My doctor rold me that because it is so early I would be okay going on rides at 8 weeks. He said that there is no solid evidence of such rides causing harm to babies, the reason for the posted signs is a precaution because there is also not enough evidence to support that such rides do not increase miscarriage risks. In general people say to avoid them because there is little info known and your body is so sensitive at this time, the only concern I would have is your tendancy to miscarriage that you demonstrate. Check with your health care provider and double check if you feel that something is not right with your preganancy and make sure you tell him/her that you have been on a ride. It's always best to keep them up to date on your activities.
