I am a healthy 24 year old female (not pregnant before anyone asks lol) I had a small operation at the end of March on my leg which went perfectly, a week later for the first time in my life I fainted. following this I continued to near faint and faint, varying in frequency from 3 times a week to 3 times a day, over the past 3 weeks it has started to get better, I dont faint now but i black out, near faint and from day to day, time to time I can only describe it as feeling "not there", I dont feel aware of where I am or my surrounding and often cant think straight or forget to speak and stare blankly at people.I started to get headaches the first to second week into fainting and these got worse, I have been to the opticians and need glasses for reading, tv, computer etc and the optician said this could have been causing my headaches but not the fainting.
I have had many blood tests which all come back negative from the dr, I have had an ECG and chest x-ray at the hospital which showed nothing. Although it appears to be getting better I would so love an answer. I am going back to the hospital in 2 weeks and dont want to be signed off due to the severity of my fainting lessening. If anyone has had anything similar or is in a similar situation please reply, I cant explain how confusing, frustrating and upsetting this all is.

Hi, I was talking to a man who has this problem of being dizzy & i think has fainted a couple of times. I also have afriend who has had these fainting spells but not at the frequency of yours. To me two things come to mind, is there a possibility that you have something residual in your system that you are actually having an allergic reaction to, something administered around your treatment & opperation, or have you had a definate exclusion of an adrenal disfunction which may be causing this?
Hope this can help!Let us know.
God Bless!

I have been told that it has nothign to do with the operation due to the length of time after the op it has been going on for. I know this may sound very random and a total stab in the dark but myself and my partner were watching a programme on tourettes the other week and a young male collapsed as part of his condition when he was first diagnosed and my partner joked that it was just like me and I had tourettes, I have since been reading up on tourettes and didn't realise it could come in smaller symptoms, I was always under the impression that it was full on shouting or hitting out. I am now aware that eye rolling and tics within the face (which I have had since i can remember) although i do quite well to hide them with a laugh or a cough or turning away in public, also it can be linked to depression which again I suffered with since the age of about 11. I dont want to bring it up with my family as I dont want to be seen over reacting, am I over reacting or should I mention it to someone, maybe my mum as she knows me best as a child?

The important thing is that you get treatment, if talking with mom is comforting for you go ahead, but remember you are the most important one here.
I also wonder whether you need to check your nutritional balance of minerals. I have to go now but if i can explain nutritional balance to you just send me a private message, to do that click my "behind the 8 ball picture" & send a message. I will reply & help you.
It's late here (Australia) so you might not hear from me for 12 or more hrs But i will help if that is your wish.
God Bless!
