My 15 y/o daughter faints everytime she has blood drawn or a shot. She is on medication for acne and needs to be drawn every month. She has fainted 2 times with that and just yesterday when she recieved a vacination shot. out cold. BP good, health history, normal, blood sugars normal. Is there anyting I can do to prevent them? Next month she goes again. The first time it was right after the blood draw. Second time 5 minutes later, third righ after shot with a severe hadache ad ringing in the ears before and after, then boom gone, and she is ok after that, just embaressed. anything?

I understand that you are wondering how to help your daughter who is fainting after blood is drawn or after being vaccinated. If the doctor has ruled out any medical reason for the fainting, you may want to see if your daughter is experiencing anxiety or fear related to this experience. If it is fear-related, she can receive treatment from a psychologist to get over the phobic response.
